Tradecraft License
Version 1.0
Copyright (c) 2026 Cabra Development Inc. All rights reserved, except as this license grants.
Acceptance
To receive this license, you must agree to its terms. If you do not agree, you have no license to the software.
Definitions
Licensor means Cabra Development Inc., the company that offers this license.
Software means the software this license accompanies, in source or compiled form, and every update to it. This includes the Tradecraft command-line tool, its packages, its agent skills, recipes, catalogs, and scripts, the theme build and theme UI packages, the themes and their parts, and their documentation.
Theme means a Shopify theme the Licensor publishes on the Shopify Theme Store, such as Analog.
Licensed Store means one Shopify store, identified by its myshopify.com domain, that holds a license to the Theme. A store holds a license when Shopify treats it as licensed for the Theme, such as after a purchase through the Shopify Theme Store or a transfer Shopify allows, or when it has bought a license to the Theme directly from the Licensor. A development or staging copy of a Licensed Store counts as part of it, if it is used only to develop and test that store's theme and is not open to the public for sales.
Merchant means the business that owns a Licensed Store.
You means the person or business that accepts this license. Your company means any business you work for or on behalf of.
Customizations means changes you make to the Software, and new works you make with it, such as a modified theme, new sections or blocks, settings, and templates.
License condition
You may use the Software only to work on a Licensed Store, and only for a Theme that the Licensed Store has a license for. Every use under this license must serve a Licensed Store.
Who may use the Software
The Merchant may use the Software for its Licensed Stores. Anyone working for the Merchant may use it for that Merchant's Licensed Stores, including employees, contractors, freelancers, and agencies. An agency may use the Software for several clients, as long as each store it works on is a Licensed Store.
Copyright license
Subject to the license condition and the restrictions below, the Licensor grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive copyright license to:
- install, run, copy, and modify the Software;
- make Customizations;
- deploy the Theme and your Customizations to the Licensed Store;
- run the Software in automation for the Licensed Store, such as continuous integration, deployment, and backups;
- use AI assistants and agents to do any of the above, including with the agent skills and recipes in the Software.
Restrictions
Even for a Licensed Store, you may not:
- Distribute the Software or your Customizations to anyone other than the Merchant, people working for the Merchant on that Licensed Store, and Shopify for the purpose of running that store. This includes publishing them in a public code repository. Keep any repository that holds the Software private.
- Make themes for others. Use the Software, or any part of it, to create, develop, or support a theme, theme template, theme library, section or block library, or theme generator that is offered, sold, or distributed to anyone other than a single Licensed Store. This includes the Shopify Theme Store, any other theme marketplace, and Shopify's own or anyone else's theme generation products, such as Canvas themes.
- Make apps. Use the Software, or any part of it, to create, develop, or support an app, app extension, or service offered to merchants, including through the Shopify App Store.
- Compete. Use the Software to provide a product or service that competes with the Software or with the Licensor's Tradecraft service.
- Train models. Use the Software to train or fine-tune a machine learning model. Using AI assistants and agents to do work this license permits is always allowed.
- Get around access controls. Remove, disable, or work around a license check, access control, or notice in the Software, or share your Tradecraft account or access tokens with anyone not working on a Licensed Store.
- Move a license. Use the Software for a second store under the first store's license. Each store needs its own Theme license.
Your Customizations
You own your Customizations, except for the parts that are the Software. Your Customizations stay subject to this license wherever they include the Software. The Licensor claims no rights in the Merchant's content, such as products, images, and text.
Notices
Anyone you give a copy of the Software to, as this license allows, must get a copy of this license or a link to it, and the Licensor's copyright notices.
Patent license
The Licensor grants you a license, under any patent claims it can license, to do the things this license allows. If you claim in a lawsuit that the Software infringes a patent, your patent license ends at once.
Violations
If you violate this license, your license ends. If it is your first violation, and you fix it within 32 days after the Licensor sends you notice of it, your license continues as if the violation had not happened. Using a Theme on a store without a Theme license is fixed only by buying the license.
New versions
The Licensor may offer new versions of the Software under a new version of this license. Each version of the Software is governed by the license that came with it.
Governing law
The laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there govern this license. The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute about it.
Fair use
Nothing in this license limits rights you have under law, such as fair use.
No warranty and no liability
The Software is provided as is, without any warranty or condition. To the extent the law allows, the Licensor is not liable to you for any damages that come from the Software or this license, of any kind.
